Palm Beach is unlike anywhere else in the U.S. There is something special about Palm Beach: it's the perfect blend of European architecture, old-world elegance, and beaches that seem to go on forever. Emily and I have been visiting the island with our family for over 20 years and love visiting our favorite home away from home.
Stay
The Brazilian Court Hotel
301 Australian Ave, Palm Beach, FL 33480
The Brazilian Court Hotel is beautifully designed and located off a quiet street. Our aunt always used to say that she would love to live at the Brazilian Court when she was old so she could eat at Café Boulud (the restaurant in the hotel) every day.
The Colony
155 Hammon Ave, Palm Beach, FL 33480
The Colony is a Palm Beach icon. It's in the middle of everything and is steps away from Worth Avenue (the main shopping street). The hotel is an Instagrammable dream -- even if you don't stay here, I recommend stopping by for a coffee, cocktail, or dinner at Swifty's.
Eat & Drink
SurfSide Diner
314 S County Rd, Palm Beach, FL 33480
Surfside is popular with Palm Beach locals for its excellent food and casual atmosphere. Stop in here for breakfast or lunch. Usually, there is a bit of a wait, but I promise it's worth it.
Can't miss: "Make your own omelet"
Sant Ambroeus
340 Royal Poinciana Way, Palm Beach, FL 33480
I love going to Sant Ambroeus for breakfast (they have great coffee). Stop in here before starting your day shopping in Royal Poinciana Plaza.
Can't miss: The coffee
BiCE
313 1/2 Worth Ave, Palm Beach, FL 33480
BiCE is the perfect place to have lunch after a morning of shopping on Worth Avenue. They also have a great happy hour.
Can’t miss: the homemade pasta
Pizza Al Fresco
14 Via Mizner, Palm Beach, FL 33480
Pizza Al Fresco is always my first dinner in Palm Beach. The restaurant is located in a courtyard off Worth Avenue and transports you straight to Italy. The "Palm Beach" is my favorite. Also - if you are traveling with a dog, the restaurant is primarily outdoor seating and dog-friendly. We used to take our Uncle's two white labs.
Can't miss: The "Palm Beach" pizza
Flanigan's
330 Southern Blvd, West Palm Beach, FL 33405
Flanigan's is a non fussy Florida chain with the best ribs, in my opinion. They don't take reservations, so arrive early or expect a bit of a wait.
Can't miss: The ribs
Café Boulud
301 Australian Ave, Palm Beach, FL 33480
Café Boulud is one of my favorite restaurants in Palm Beach. I've always gone here for special events like New Year's Eve and my sister's birthday. One year for Emily's birthday, Chef Boulud heard it was her birthday and gave her a kitchen tour.
Can't miss: The duck
Flagler Steakhouse
2 S County Rd, Palm Beach, FL 33480
Flagler Steakhouse never disappoints. I've gone here for a few New Year's Eve dinners and have always had an incredible meal. The restaurant is a bit pricey but well worth it.
Can't miss: The Steak
Cucina
257 Royal Poinciana Way, Palm Beach, FL 33480
Cucina is the place to party in Palm Beach. This restaurant turns into a fun bar later at night and is well worth checking out.
See
Henry Morrison Flagler Museum
1 Whitehall Way, Palm Beach, FL 33480
Whitehall is a Gilded Age mansion that Henry Flagler, the co-founder of Standard Oil, built. The property is now a museum and also serves afternoon tea. I recommend stopping here for tea and taking the time to visit the museum.
The Breakers
1 S County Rd, Palm Beach, FL 33480
The Breakers is a Palm Beach Icon. The hotel and property are impressive. I recommend stopping here for a drink at the hotel bar. Pro Tip: Make sure you have your parking validated at the bar if you drive.
Worth Avenue
Worth Avenue
Worth Avenue is a famous shopping street in Palm Beach. I love this part of the island because the architecture and small walking streets remind me of Italy. Some of my favorite shops in this area are AERIN, 120% Lino, and Stubbs & Wootton.
Church Mouse
376 S County Rd, Palm Beach, FL 33480
I love Church Mouse for shopping vintage. This shop is a treasure trove of amazing home goods and clothing finds. The last time I was there, I bought a 1970s silk suit set that a couture designer designed for $80.
Go
Watch Polo
Neighboring Wellington is world-renowned for Polo. If you are visiting during Polo season, I recommend attending a Sunday match brunch (tickets must be bought in advance).
Delray Beach
Delray is a more casual beach town south of Palm Beach. The beachfront is very well maintained and has more amenities than the Public beaches on Palm Beach Island. On the way to Delray from Palm Beach, one of my favorite things to do is stop at "Seabra Foods" (a Portuguese grocer) to get pastel de nata.
