I hate to waste good wine! Who doesn’t? I’m always on the hunt for new, fun uses for leftover wine. Leftover red wine is great in risottos and sauces, but what about the sweets? Using the famous red wine and chocolate pairing for inspiration I combined two of my favorite things – wine and baking. Making brownies from scratch is shockingly easy! (A fact I discovered after testing many iterations of this recipe to land on the perfect balance.)
There’s never a wrong time for chocolate or wine! Please enjoy my fan-favorite Valevino Cha Cha Cha Red Wine Brownie Recipe.
Ingredients:
- 1 C flour
- 1 ½ tsp salt
- ¾ C cocoa powder
- 1 ½ c white sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 Tbs olive oil
- 1 ½ tsp vanilla
- ½ C melted butter
- ½ C Valevino Cha Cha Cha Red Blend
Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350 F
Step 2: Combine all dry ingredients
Mix the sugar, flour, cocoa powder, and salt in a medium bowl.
Step 3: Combine all wet ingredients
Whisk together the eggs, olive oil, vanilla, melted butter, and Cha Cha Cha Red Blend in a large bowl.
Step 4: Combine dry and wet ingredients
Slowly add the dry mixture to the wet one, and fold until just combined. Your batter will be thick!
Step 5: Pour the batter into an 8x8 metal pan lined with parchment paper
You can also use a glass pan or grease the pan with butter or baking spray, but I’ve found you get the best texture from a metal pan lined with parchment paper.
Step 6: Bake your brownies!
Bake your brownies for 35-45 minutes.
Pro tip: A good way to check if your brownies are done is to stick a toothpick in the middle and see if it comes out clean.
Enjoy ❤️
